An enjoyable read with such an addictive plot I found I could not put it down and read it from cover to cover in one hit
Both the Tipton brothers were complex characters, and their stories were indeed fascinating. I really enjoyed the timeless meld of history and fantasy and loved the authors world building.
Birth of the Tiptons is the first in an exciting new series by Davidson and I can’t wait to read the next instalment.

Not what I was expecting and exceeded my expectations! Birth of the Tiptons introduces us to this incredible family with George and Charles being our first two Tiptons we meet.
The book was funny and I really liked the dynamics of the twins together, even when they were arguing, you got a sense that deep down they loved each other. Frederick narrating the story was very well done and I did enjoy how matter-of-fact he was when he was re-telling the story. A good blend of fantasy and history – George III is one of my favourite kings so this was interesting for me to see another side to him! A good fantastical story and a great start to the series

“Birth of the Tiptons.” Not what I was expecting! An interesting read that really grabs your attention. Focused on the Tipton twins you are transported back in time to the Victorian age, and Philip does an incredible job of putting you in the scene with the attention to detail that he puts into each sentence.
BOTT is an amazing mix of history and fantasy so seamlessly blended that the two genres feel like the belong together. Unique plot with twists and turns and complex characters which you get to know deeply with the dive into their history you get to see in this novel. This is my first book by this author but I will definitely be reading more in the future.

This first episode in a multi-part family saga introduces us to twin orphans George and Charles Tipton who grow up in a Black Country Orphanage, despite having an unusual parentage that is seemingly having an effect on both of their lives. In adulthood, the twins diverge, with different career paths but following a huge fallout and physical fight, they are thrown back together, just in time for George’s long-awaited application to the Great Exhibition with his beloved ‘music-picture-stories’ (a quaint term I absolutely love!)
This novel is full to bursting of content. Going back and forth throughout time, there is history, family struggles, science, supernatural fantasy and probably more to mention.
I found the overall vibe quite light-hearted and amusing at times which suited the story and made it a pleasure to read. Detailed and imaginative, Birth of the Tiptons has set the stage for a unique family saga and I am so intrigued to see what unfolds over the course of this series.

Reading Birth of the Tiptons is like falling down the rabbit hole and I really enjoyed my trip. It’s a cross genre novel that mied historical fiction with fantasy which make for a very entertaining read.
The Tipton twins are growing up in an orphanage and they have no idea who their parents are. Their destiny has been mapped out from the moment of their birth in 1810 but there are dark and dangerous forces at work to try to disrupt this. When their descendants in America discover a mysterious old trunk in 2019, they put themselves and their destiny at risk.
Told via flashbacks the story meanders through Georgian and Victorian England, imparting nuggets of historical fact like Easter eggs amongst the colourful and engaging storyline. I felt like I had been in a time machine as I walked in the footsteps of the past and gazed at the sights and sounds of 19th century London.
Incredibly imaginative and very entertaining. Birth of the Tiptons is a brilliant start to the Tipton Saga and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

The book “follows the twin Tipton boys growing up in a Black Country orphanage seeing the industrial revolution taking shape. However, it appears an external force is pulling the strings on the lads. In fact, not one force, but two, and this is because of their highly unusual parentage.
This book is well plotted with very unusual vivid character It is well written and will be popular with fans of fantasy and histotric epic stories

This book was absolutely not what I was expecting! Probably because I got so excited about the chance to review historical fiction that I missed that it was actually historical fantasy! But that’s ok, because I thoroughly enjoyed it and probably wouldn’t have picked it up myself, so my mistake turned out to be a good thing.
The historical fact and fantasy elements were woven together seamlessly. fantasyThe descriptions were great, but not too much, so I could really picture the scenes. Especially those in London as I know a lot of the places mentioned.
I also really enjoyed the mentions of King George III and his various illnesses. Especially the mental health issues he suffered. I’ve had a soft spot for him ever since I saw Hamilton

This is my first read by the author, and I absolutely devoured it in one sitting. I loved the concept and the plot. I thought it was very unique and addictive I think the author has done a phenomenal with world building and character building. Really enjoyed the Tipton brothers’ characters.
As the story unfolds, you get to know more about the characters and timeline. You can see the amount of research that had gone into this when you read about the East India Company.
Birth of the Tiptons is well written, compelling read with historical referances and fantasy. I highly recommend this book, and cannot wait to see where the next book takes us

This was the first book that I’ve ever read by the author and I was not disappointed to say the least. The Birth of the Tiptons blends both historical fiction with a tad of fantasy and what could go wrong.
We get to see what life is like for the Tipton’s back in 1851 and travel through to 2019 where we meet their descendants. I absolutely loved this and cannot wait for the sequel to come out.
